This is our Bordeaux style blend with 50% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc. This wine is a great expression of our family vineyard as a whole, soft yet explosive with fruit flavor. The name has great significance to our roots on Mount Veeder, Alden Yates was Michael’s father and Perry Yates was his grandfather who first purchased the property in 1950. This wine is a tribute to them.

Tasting Notes
Vibrant ruby garnet in color with aromas of dark tree fruit, blackberry, white pepper, hints of lavender and earthy briar tones are prevalent in the nose. Elements of cloves, pipe tobacco, black licorice, fresh-baked blackberry pie give this wine multiple layers. Balanced acidity and mid-palate tannins lead to a rich and full finish. This complex wine has potential for extended aging.

This is my favorite of the Yates' wine. It captures the variety that the vineyards have to offer and it's sooooo tasty.
